Patient Treatment Process

Neurobehavioral Status Examination

This initial appointment is a 1-2 hour interview with Dr. Thwaites in which the patient will discuss their history and address any presenting concerns.

Neuropsychological Testing

Following the interview, our psychometrists administer tests with the patient to measure various cognitive domains (language, reasoning, learning and memory, visual-spatial skills, motor and sensory skills, attention and concentration, etc.). The testing session can range from 1-7 hours and will include breaks as necessary.

Feedback Session

After testing is completed, we schedule a 30 minute feedback session with the patient to discuss the results and develop a comprehensive treatment plan with Dr. Thwaites.

Follow up Sessions

Dr. Thwaites will meet with the patient as needed for 30-60 minute sessions to track efficacy of treatment, provide support/education about the patient's injury or illness, etc.
